Wendy Szaniszlo - Whale Watching Guide

Wendy is a marine mammal biologist with a passion for sharing her knowledge about marine wildlife. Wendy has worked on a variety of sea lion, grey whale and humpback whale research projects in collaboration with government, academic and not-for-profit organizations. She holds a MSc. from the University of Victoria. Wendy has worked with Parks Canada for 14 years in various capacities, most recently focussing on species-at-risk. She has also worked as a naturalist with Parks Canada, BC Parks, and local eco-tour companies. Wendy has operated whale watching boats for three years in both Barkley Sound and Clayoquot Sound and is member of the Ucluelet Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Lance Blackwell - Senior Whale Watching Guide

Now in his tenth season with Aquamarine Adventures, Lance has worked on BC’s Coast for 30 years. First as a scuba diving guide and later as a Coast Guard driver, commercial diver and more recently, a filmmaker. Lance’s knowledge of the First Nations History and marine mammals is extensive and he looks forward to sharing his stories with you. Lance has a great deal of experience locating whales. Over the years he has developed an intimate understanding of the grey and humpback whales that frequent the Tofino / Ucluelet area.
